They serve their purpose perfectly. We used them as a background and over a door. They are not durable so you need to be careful with them. If you accidentally catch one of these on your clothing, hair, or whatever as you walk through the door, it's guaranteed to rip off. A few strands fell off in the package, but we just glued them in between. So it still looked good. It's just extra work. They work really well as backgrounds and the matte coloring was great for avoiding camera flash. I wouldn't hang it over the door though. I'm not sure what happened either, but when I first opened it, it smelled like someone had died and stayed in the house for a few weeks. We had to leave them outside for three days before the smell went away.
