I've wanted to replace our mandolin slicer for a long time. I saw this one and decided to give it a try because of the reasonable price and features. I'm pleasantly surprised. Firstly, this time is much sturdier than I expected, the metal is thick and the device is heavy overall. There are many opportunities. several thicknesses, folds, julienne. Cleaning was a breeze. Rinse briefly and you're done. I raised my forearm to remove the stuck food. My only cons: I saw one spot where the blade was bent, I don't see a way to swap out the blades over time.
