I have just started using the K cup machine
As others have pointed out, using these with reusable pods minimizes cleaning mess. Most importantly, without these filters, I get a lot of buildup in my coffee, which I don't like. They don't add a foreign aftertaste to my coffee. Filters "caps" make their filling somewhat cloudy. Other reviews seem to work fine without the lids, but I think I'll keep getting theses as they suited my needs quite well.
