First I have to say the product works exactly as advertised and has great responsive customer support. Even on Thanksgiving! In my review I will list the hardware models I own just in case it might help someone else not go through the nightmare I was having. I bought a 27" 4K monitor (ViewSonic VP2780-4K) and was thinking. . Just plug it into my laptop's HDMI port. NO! The graphics card was designed to display 4K on a Toshiba P-70 running Windows They don't support 7 pro though, it even says so in their specs but they spent 5 hours on the phone with 4 of their horrible customer service reps who knew less than me and one was very rude, I did a lot of research and ended up with a plugable Found USB 3.0 to DisplayPort 4K UHD adapter There is 4K but at 30Hz so the quality is better but slower It seems this was the only option on my P-70 laptop Other options to get 4K too received was a new computer or a desktop computer with the option of a better graphics card so far i dont think there are other options to get 4k gaming as far as adapters i think the only option as technologies a e need to catch up one by one to play together is to wait and buy what you want as a system and then sign blood that it will work together. I use the 4K monitor for photo editing and business. I'm not sure if this setup is fast enough for gaming. Even on a display this size, you may need to reset the displayed characters to a custom size. I used 200 and now I can read the text in the menu. From the support I've received here with Plugable, I just wish they made computers and I would buy one. They went out of their way to make sure everything worked, not just their adapter which gave me 4K. Thanks very much!
