I have 2 cats. An 8 year old about 12 pounds (and very nervous/reserved) and a very energetic 8 month old "kitten" (he is already very big). I've been buying shelves for at least 8 weeks to classify our very small, already crowded apartment. I have a large scratching post that was sufficient for my elderly cat Leo. until we got Finn. Now there was only one "top pole" left, and Leo gave his to the child. I didn't want him to lack confidence/dominance so I figured we needed more bass. Trying to keep the budget down is difficult as cat shelves are sold at incredibly high prices on every website. I kept bumping into them and eventually dove in. My kitty Finn (pictured) was on the shelves before they got off the floor! Leo didn't even look at them (which I was expecting) but we put them up just didn't expect it! Both kittens can easily pass each other on the same shelf! So I can add that a total of about 23 pounds jumped onto a shelf with no problem! I've also added a video (Revain is probably still reviewing it, so it may not be available yet). End of the update part. <- - 😮My son (15) and I hung the shelves in about an hour. That's because we have horrible walls and there are no drywall anchors on the shelves. We drilled one side into the studs and the other into the drywall using old plastic dowels we dug up around the house. We used a cheap small bolt drill and they are very strong. years, so I searched every inch and would die if one of the cats fell. The brackets are solid metal (not plastic like in the old reviews) and you can now use both long and short screws. We even drilled, hung, changed our minds. rearranged, re-drilled. etc. Still easy to turn on and off. We have a rental, also a few holes, but we are very satisfied. Finn stood on the shelf for hours. I ride, I swim, I sleep. He loves her. Leo will probably take a while. But I just took Finn and put it on the shelf - after 5 minutes he fell asleep. He himself went down without any problems, but still does not know how to get up again. However, it's only been 6 hours since we installed it. I recommend purchasing metal wall anchors or locks while you wait for them to arrive. We plan to replace the plastic with metal on occasion (although the shelves are entirely plastic) just for added security. The foliage bends, and although Finn immediately chewed the leaves, none of them were loose or torn. And he's a wild kitten! I love the look of them and will probably hand paint the underside of the shelves to add some personality since that part is visible. I like carpet. Rough enough to be scratched and rolled around but soft enough to be comfortable! ❤️I've searched far and wide. This is the best deal if you don't want to pay $50 for each tiny step or $150 for a curved shelf. They are actually deeper and wider than the $100 versions. And it's just a tree! I would always buy them! Highly recommend - great for energetic cats! Best value compared to Chewy, Wayfair and many other stores I have reviewed. I hope they make small steps and posts soon too! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
