Fantastic value but some performance issues (see below). Highly recommended

I have a huge collection of USB 2.0 drives, but almost all of my USB 3.0 flash drives are very large (128GB+). Ironically, the USB 3.0 drives I have available aren't quite up to scratch for some of the small jobs I need to do. I figured I'd find some cheap 16GB or 32GB drives to use as boot devices. A little searching led me to the KOOTION 5 X 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drives. In my experience, you never know what you're going to get if you don't buy brand name flash drives. Historically, I've generally stuck to a small group of large manufacturers. In this case, I was willing to try brands. The main thing to worry about is performance. Some manufacturers outright lie about what kind of interface a flash drive has. Some post fake performance statistics. With KOOTION drives, I was able to verify that the interface being used is actually USB 3.0. Also, I measured decent hard drive performance! When I'm promoting good performance, it's good to be realistic about what you're going to get for less than $5 a ride. It will not be a device that makes optimal use of the USB 3.0 interface. KOONTIONs achieve a maximum STR of 125 MB/s when reading. They also handle read speeds of 50-75 MB/s. There are certainly more powerful flash drives out there, but I've never seen a CHEAP USB 3.0 drive manage anything like the write speed on these flash drives. So. burn fast? Fast enough? Yes. With oscillating aluminum plates, KOOTIONs look like 2006's Free Sticks, so there's some dissonance when it comes to performance. I love the discs and highly recommend them for light general use.
