Review on Panasonic NN SN936W Countertop Microwave Technology by Marisol Rodriguez

After our 6 year old Panasonic NN-H965BF 1250W 2.2 cu ft microwave started rattling and clicking I figured it was time to replace it. There aren't many inexpensive 1250 watt, 2.2 cu ft microwave ovens out there. sooo Think! Luckily it doesn't break like our old microwave. I HAVE a rating of up to 2 stars due to Panasonic's clearly misleading labeling of the power requirements of this microwave oven. On the label (see "amps" which suggests it will work with a 15 amp circuit breaker (despite the owner's manual recommending a 20 amp circuit). You're better off getting a 20 amp or 30 -Use amp circuit I have tested this in two ways: 1) with Kill Watts P3 (available on Revain at https://www.amazon.com/P3-P4400-Electricity-Usage-Monitor/dp/B00009MDBU). Kill A Watt is a GREAT device. It measures the voltage, frequency and power consumption (in watts) of a 110V device plugged into an outlet. Very handy for people trying to plan power needs for a standby generator. 2) With "clamp" meter. I used an Elekcity MSR-C600 which I got from Revain (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NWGZ4XC). It uses a "clip" placed around ONE of the wires that power an electrical device to tell you the current ampere load. Kill A Watt showed a consumption of 1989 watts. 1989 watts divided by 120 volts = 16.58 amps. REMEMBER. Panasonic states 12.3 amps. The Etekcity current clamp showed a load current of 16.87 amps. REMEMBER. Panasonic states 12.3 amps. This microwave works (so far). I am disappointed with the misleading labeling of power requirements.
