I already had a rear bike rack with a milk crate, but the tool kit I was carrying was taking up too much space, so I looked for ways to store the tools elsewhere. I chose the Sunlite front rack because it was big enough for a small tool box and accessible enough to keep me happy. My biggest concern was that my Huffy Cranbrook didn't have pre-drilled caliper holes in the fork. My Huffy is a single speed bike with foot brakes. I bought the Sunlite anyway, confident that at such a low price I could come up with something. I've uploaded a photo showing how I installed it. This turned out to be easier than expected. My top fork was pre-drilled for the fender mount and the top rack brace bolted in perfectly with no further interference. To attach the lower strut braces, I used commercially available tube hangers and attached them to the forks. Then I attached the racks to the hangers. Pipe hangers are available in various sizes at all major hardware stores for less than $1 each. The only downside to the hangers was the clamp screws that came with them. They were aluminum or some other soft metal that broke when I tightened them, so I had to replace them with stronger ones. When installing the hangers and rack, loosely connect everything together and then gradually tighten to align all parts. slip off the fork. My tool box is only 10-12 pounds and I have no problem.
