I work from home and do a lot of calling and web conferencing using Skype, GoToMeeting, WebEx and Zoom. I also do a lot of web presentations using PowerPoint and software. I'm probably not a regular user of this mic as I need a really great conferencing setup. My Bluetooth and USB headsets annoyed me with voice quality. Maybe I look like a streamer? I tested it by connecting it to my 2018 MacBook Pro and using QuickTime and Zoom to capture simple audio clips. As all the other reviewers say, this mic is built like a tank. Weighs 1 pound in an all metal body, really good input and output jacks, the touchpad is responsive and everything seems made with care and pride. voice quality. I put it about 5-6 inches from my mouth, at 50% gain, in neutral mode, and my voice sounds very clear. Finally a setup that I can confidently say does exactly what I was looking for, which is crystal clear sound. ... And by crystal clear, I mean crystal clear to the limit. Since this is a condenser microphone, it picks up literally anything that even remotely resembles a sound wave. Is my toddler banging toys down the hall or whining? Yes. Someone washes their hands "Yes. Speaking in another room? Yes. Birds chirp outside when my window is closed? Yes. BUT my voice is still very clear! Hooray! it in real time?" time? Remember I can't do post production because I'm live and not recording. Some reviewers will say turn the gain down and feel closer to the mic like it's really intimate Uh no thanks I'm on conference calls 4-5 hours a day, others will say ditch the condenser mic and get a speaker Microphone with XLR connector, connect it to your computer via a USB audio interface, and the problem is solved um no thanks i don't have taj mahal with tables to add more boxes noise canceling solution add a noise canceling app which is a small program on your computer that your Records audio, runs it through its algorithm to eliminate unwanted background noise, and outputs a cleaner version.I found one called Krisp AI, which has only been available on Macs since May 2019 t, but there are other noise reduction apps for Windows. Basically, my Mac's inputs and outputs have Krisp to choose from, so in the Krisp app I choose the Shure MV51 for both output and input, but in my web conferencing app I choose Krisp. And I'm not kidding, this app works wonders. And by miracles, I mean I did a test run and my 2.5 year old started crying in the bathroom next door from falling in the toilet (still potty trained) and my record didn't record the crying. Zero. And yes, it doesn't record keyboard or mouse clicks that are 3 inches from the microphone. It's safe to say that Noisegate was the way out for me. Conclusion? I love this microphone. There are many great USB microphones out there. there, especially in the $150-200 range. I basically chose this one because I like the look, it had good reviews, and it had a touch mute button. Mainly because there was a touch mute button. Serious. But I'm glad I went anyway.
