I bought this house for our outdoor cat because in winter we get cold especially at night. I turn it on when I know it's getting cold and he loves it! I put his blanket there and he immediately settled into it. I also like that it has a detachable Velcro "door" for more extreme temperatures to really keep it warm. The only downside I found with this product is that only the back half of the bed heats up when plugged in. It's not a product issue, it's just the way it was made. The heated part is about half the size of the bed. It still works great for our kitty, snuggling up in the back where it's warm. This can be done so that they are at the back and not by the door where it can potentially be colder. Regardless, I still love it! And the price was very reasonable compared to others I found.
