I had several sets of fan-shaped styli with thin blades (0.002 - 0.006) and they were handy, but had one fatal flaw - thin blades bent easily when folded for storage and crumpled thickness 0.004 not exactly . These calibers eliminate this deficiency by making the actual blade short and attaching it to a fiber handle. Because the blade is smaller, it is stronger than comparable blades, and the angle it attaches to the handle is perfect for adjusting valves. I'm definitely new to this blade style.
