.and that's the worst thing I can say about this light. And I painted the nickel rings to match everything else in my living room, so even that was doable. I've lived in this house forever with those super ugly lamps with a "decorative" glass square. A few weeks ago I had to clean them AGAIN for bugs and then I got sick of it. I think the lights should be flush with the ceiling. What about built-in LEDs? Even better! I have this and a smaller one for the kitchen. My house is not new and the person who owned it before me was very, very bad at it. The existing junction box and wiring were very simple. As an added bonus, the device I had before wasn't very usable. Either too bright or. Well, it's too bright. Now I'm not sure if it's because of the light fixture, or because I took the opportunity to replace the dimmer switch with an ugly one, but when this thing runs at the lowest brightness level, it does is in my field of view, it's still very, very helpful. It's a bit taller and all the LEDs are down lit (and diffused) so it doesn't even shine from the TV!
