I bought this in October, checked the accuracy and found it to be true. Four months later I checked it again and found that it had stretched with use! I checked with a professional laser measure and what was 36 inches on the tape measure was actually 7/16 inches longer than a yard. It's comfortable and looks good, but a stretch band is useless if you want precision. . Also, don't hold the end of the strap on a small leather keychain, as the ring that attaches it to the end of the strap could break, like mine did. A tiny piece of fiberglass reinforces it, so calling it "fiberglass tape" is a bit of a stretch (no pun intended, but appropriate).
