This item just didn't work very well. It fell over the first time my cat jumped on it so she didn't do it again! The bullet hanging from the main block broke loose almost immediately and is now chasing around the house. The other spring-loaded toy seems fine and she plays with it sometimes, but it also gets knocked over. However, she figured out how to put it upright, so she lets it run around the house too. It wasn't very expensive and I bought it to see how it would hold up. It really isn't, and I've since replaced it with a larger, more durable scratching post. This can be normal for kittens but not for cats older than 6 months.
