Growing up we had a cheese slicer like this. Took many years. I bought a cheap replacement from a local store. It worked, but after washing in the dishwasher, it discolored and the roller and wire were too far apart. I had hoped the Westmark would be like the one I grew up with. Not really, at first I liked it. About 2 months. Long enough to order 2 more for friends. I mainly use it for Tillamook cheddar cheese. Cut a slice, then you need to tighten the wire in 2 places. Cut another piece, tighten. I went back to my old cheap slicer. Now he is many, many years old and works without drawing. The same fate befell 2 planes that I gave away to friends.
