sheets are very soft and silky to the touch! Even with washing! However, I've never had satin sheets so I'm not sure if there's a specific detergent, but after the first wash and after lying in bed with wet hair after a shower, the sheet had streaks and stains. Almost like washing the sheets in a greasy detergent or shampoo. I used the Gain Cleanser and my Whole Blends Shampoo. Aside from those stains (which don't bother me because my husband and I are the only ones who see them), they were very soft! Also, our room is pretty cold compared to the rest of the house, and those sheets feel chilly at first, but they keep us warm all night. Not sure what the summer will be like as we have a 113 degree summer here. I also bought a Target cool touch pillow and you can see the imperfections on the pillow through the pillowcase. But it is okay. I love these sheets and will continue to buy them from now on!
