Review on SONGMICS Assembly Required Multiple URPF20BK by Heather Johnson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice photo idea - needs patience during installation!

The finished product is very beautiful and unique. Glass was important to me, and it wasn't plastic. The frame material was affordable and the holes were drilled fairly accurately. At least accurate enough. One of the clips holding the back of the photo frame in place was very loose and probably didn't do its job. The rivet was just badly fastened and there is no way to fix it. There are 4 clips in the picture so it will still work. If you frequently replace frames, this can be a problem as clips can break when reused. The overall assembly seems solid enough and should hold together. The clip you use to hang it on the wall is a little suspect. I don't hang it on anything that could be damaged if dropped. It doesn't go through my bed. Installation: This is pretty weird. Zero instructions - I mean zero in the box but I knew I was going to go for it. I initially referred to the video but it was for a different frame arrangement so be careful. For the first 5 minutes I thought it was a complete mess. I then simply used the finished build image found on the Revain product page (rear view with frame numbers) to put it together - it took 30 minutes or less. A few suggestions: 1. Assemble them in "sets" before connecting the top half to the bottom half. Start at frame #1 and create layers around it as shown. Do the same around frame #2 and then there are 2 horizontal frames left and right essentially connecting the top half with the bottom half as the last layer. Hope that makes sense.2. Insert wooden dowels first to make sure you are level. Then when you drive the screws in you have to use force to make them bite into the wood but at the same time you have to support the frame you are screwing in so that it installs evenly and evenly otherwise it may tip down. This makes it look bad and difficult to install the next layer. I used a stack of index cards of the right thickness to support the frame's overhang while I screwed it to the frame it overlapped.3. Don't screw too deep as the wood is quite soft and if you keep turning you may screw deeper than the surface and the screw head will disappear, loosening the connection. I did it twice before realizing it. I would not use force as the screws are not of the highest quality and the wood is soft. The finished look is a 5 as it looks amazing to me. I suppose if you mess up the setup or if the holes aren't drilled properly or if you don't have the patience then you might feel different. I'll probably buy another one of these.
