I bought this to try my hand at candle making. There must be an easier way to melt beeswax! This pot is aluminum, not stainless steel, so not heavy. It has good pouring and I like the handle because it doesn't get too hot. I placed the pot in a large pot of boiling water to melt the wax and it wobbled a bit. So I'm not fixed on this pot being the best for what I want to use it for. The price was right, especially since wax cleaning is not an option, so I will only be using this to melt the wax.
