Bought these when my old case fans were starting to fail. I thought I could spice up my Enthoo Pro M case, but I don't have a motherboard with an RGB header. They acted as a bridge between them. I actually prefer this style of RGB fan with RGB lighting coming from inside the fan shroud rather than inside the fan hub. They're bright, have lots of color options, and are pretty quiet. A few things to note: 1. By default, the controller is in music mode. When you turn it on for the first time, it responds to sounds. Until you take it out of this mode, the light may not come on unless you're in a noisy environment. All you have to do is press the auto button or one of the mode buttons. Then have fun finding the pattern you like.2. You can save multiple color swatches on the DIY button. I didn't know that and didn't see anything about it in the manual. This is great because sometimes you just want a solid color and other times you want a full rainbow party mode and it can be tiring having to press the mode button a million times to find the right one. Just find a few, save them to the DIY button, and you're done.3. Fans don't interact with your motherboard other than to provide power. MoBo can't control the speed, so using one of these instead of a CPU cooler fan would be a bad idea. As a case of fans, ideal. I set them to be pressurized with the rear exhaust, put them on all the filters and set them to medium speed. There is enough airflow to avoid overheating issues and the MoBo doesn't need to increase or decrease it. Self tapping screws. The holes in the fans are not pre-threaded. That means they need some force to turn them. This is normal and I'm not sure why some have complained about it. For those who are experienced system builders, this is nothing new.
