Too difficult to set up and get working

We bought this to record games on our Xbox One and had a nightmare trying to get it working. It took us 5 hours to transfer what we see on TV to our Windows computer but now when we record it it is not saved anywhere. Recording our game shouldn't be that difficult and we will most likely be returning the device as we can't get it to work properly or easily.
