Review on πŸ–₯️ VIVO Dual 17-27 inch Pneumatic Spring Arm Clamp-on Desk Mount Stand - Max VESA 100x100, White, STAND-V102OW by Damon Fields

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Inexpensive monitor arm, 14 lb capacity overpriced

The VIV0 102-0 dual monitor stand is a worthwhile purchase for the price. It supports a double clamp/sleeve for a secure fit, as opposed to a single clamp/sleeve. The temples are metal and feel solid. You look good too. I bought it to support 2 monitors and get rid of my desk. I mounted it with a grommet mount as my desk has a frame that interferes with the clamp. Installing the brackets was easy. The instructions are concise and clear, and the hands were ready for my table in about 15 minutes. I have 2 monitors. The monitor on the right is a 24-inch HP monitor that weighs 6 pounds. This monitor held my hand like a fish in water, and I didn't need any special bracket or mount adjustments. Also, I can rotate, tilt, or raise this monitor with no issues. The monitor on the right is a 27-inch Acer monitor that weighs 10 pounds. I had some trouble installing this monitor. Although the pneumatic arms hold up well after some adjustments, the monitor tilted down. Basically I had to maximize the tilt angle to the point where the monitor is no longer tilted. I can still raise my hand and rotate the monitor with ease. When I loosen the tilt screws, the monitor just tilts the screen down. I think the advertised weight capacity of 14 pounds is an overstatement. Perhaps it can support heavier monitors with some loss of functionality. Cable management is fine. He uses clips and they can come loose. I personally didn't have any issues with this, but felt that a better cable clamp solution would have helped. The levers also reach a decent height. This is not a problem for me as I use these monitors while seated. This can disturb standing and working people. The monitors also curve a little. Keep in mind that if the desk is flush with the wall like mine, there is no way to connect both monitors. The only option is to put the table away from the wall so your arms can reach outside of the table. Overall I would give 5* for the price. However, I can only put 4* (wanted to put 3.5*) due to a weak toggle clamp which basically doesn't work anymore.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Something is wrong
