I have a 2020 16" MacBook Pro and have tried several hubs that offer what I was looking for: under $100, can be charged independently or via mains, Ports USB A, HDMI and SD card slot. Most importantly, I can connect to my 34" Acer monitor quickly and cleanly. Among other things, VAVA was very slow to respond to the monitor (sometimes over a minute). The HyperDrive was slightly better but didn't like the fact that it took up 2 of the 4 USB C ports but this little one got the job done and couldn't be happier so far The monitor slides out and turns on within seconds my laptop charges with my own attached charger and has the ports I need. The inclusion of VGA seems odd but I guess trying to address what the Mass of old school corporate projectors? And I don't need Ethernet (why is this sold on EVERY hub?). Rugged, compact design, nice long detachable cable (and very short too), so it's a clear winner in the crowd of USB-C hubs under $100 right now. I'm glad I finally found one that works without spending over $200 on a more robust desktop version.
