Good materials for warmth - as long as you don't sweat. When you walk (or hunt or run) and sweat it doesn't breathe well and traps sweat (or moisture on your breath if you cover your mouth/nose with it) which then stops freezing. I decided it was best to leave it on during exercise and then put it back on to keep warm. The fit is snug, but you can still wear a hat underneath (or over) if it's really cold.
