I bought these to make decorations for the employees in my office. They are very sweet! The size is more different than shown in the photo, but that gives them a natural feel. I bought chalkboard paint and chalk paint, but found that using a black and silver marker gets the same effect for less (I know it sounds pretentious, but trust me). The rope that comes with the pieces of wood is perfect for tiny holes. So if you want to use a different rope/tape, make sure it's small enough to fit or drill larger holes.
