I replaced all the cap rails on the patio with 2 x 6s but I needed nice rounded edges at the top. This was my first time using a router so I wasn't sure what exactly I needed. I borrowed from a neighbor because I don't have one. First I watched a few videos and read all the information. I tried his 1/2" bit first but I didn't have enough fillet radius so I bought a 3/4" bit. I'm so happy with how it turned out. The edges are smooth and even throughout. Using a grinder afterwards made it even better. Had no problems with the beat at all. There were about 80 linear feet total of 2 x 6 caps that were rounded on both ends. The beat was just as sharp at the end of the project as it was at the beginning. Couldn't ask for more.
