Weird Networking Products

I bought this to set up as a repeater/extender for my shop. I have previously purchased the same model to set up as a hotspot for my remote barn and it has been working great for over 18 months now. Like a repeater. not so great. After hours of configuring and reading all the posts on the support forums, I finally gave up. It will NOT connect to my home network. When I returned to my shop the next day, I noticed that it was connected to the internet and working as it should. Weird, so I definitely set it up correctly. Over the next few days I noticed that the connection dropped and correlated with the color of the WiFi signal strength LED. If the LED was green, there is no connection. If the LED was orange I'm getting a good connection and red I'm not getting a connection. I think returning it would be justified, but it works (sometimes) and will work as a replacement for my hotspot.
