OK Let me first say that my problem is not with Revain but with Moen. This is the third hose I have had to replace. because of their stupid design. First time they replaced the entire faucet under warranty with a slightly different and cheaper design which I would have forgone if the unit hadn't broke just before Christmas and the correct replacement hose had been 'out of stock' " " within 3 months! The new head was plastic rather than metal and less ergonomically shaped. The problem is the ball joint/hinge on the retractable end of the hose. The seal wears out too quickly and starts to leak. Water seeps back through the hose through the retractable housing and drips into whatever kitchen cabinet you have. Since the leak is not obvious at first (a drip, not a splash), you can seriously damage the bottom of the cabinet and anything in the cabinet in front of the leak a noticeable splash. The replacement hose is cheap again. A smaller diameter hose allows for a lower flow rate without increasing water pressure, which can cause everything else to leak. It is very easy to replace and does not require a plumber. Simply shut off the supply - remove the slip-on sleeve under the sink - unscrew the knurled sleeve from the fitting head (you may need pipe handles for this, but they must be tightened hand-tight). Pull the old hose out of the housing and put the new hose back in. Connect both ends and turn on the water. BUT BEWARE! The hose does NOT come with a small white debris filter gasket (white with a round mesh in the middle). This seal fits over the tap at the end of the hose. It's just STUPID.1. You should always replace a used compression seal or O-ring when replacing it to avoid leaks. 2. If you don't realize it's there and try to install a new hose without this seal - it doesn't really seal and will squirt water out of the fitting. If you have already thrown away the old hose, finding this seal will be a problem. Also, you probably just have a bad hose. Yes I got caught but at least I expected the seal to be there so I knew I had to check but I had to use the old seal until I could (hopefully) get a new one. Crazy not to send this gasket along with the hose. Also send one with replacement faucet head! Better two than none!
