I really liked this item when I first received it and would have given it 4 or 5 stars. I liked how well the clips held the holiday lighting wires and then hooked onto the gutters. And I've suffered for years with plastic clips that can't last more than 1 or 2 seasons in the sun without becoming brittle or cracking. Stainless steel clips should be the ideal long-term solution. In addition to this product, it even says that the product does not rust, perfect. I decided to write this review until after a Christmas we placed our outdoor party lights on the outer edge of the gutters. Weeks of dry sunny weather. Usually it is very mild here, although it has rained more than usual this year. Rust is a rare problem in this area anyway and only occurs in places with high humidity or very cheap metal. These brackets were on the outer edge of the gutter where they only saw moisture in real rain and then dried quickly. turns off once the rain stops. But look at the attached photo! They're all rusty. In fact, they rusted so badly that the rust spread over the clip, staining the white party lights as well as the white gutters. Now there are orange streaks and spots everywhere. What a mess. I need to repaint the gutters to hide them. These clips should NOT be used outdoors where they will ever see moisture. If you don't care about rust spots. Another case of cheap junk advertised as stainless steel. Very frustrating. I could try another brand that advertises a similar product but they are probably all made in the same factory in China and all from the same cheap, low quality metal that will rust. This seller should remove their seemingly unconfirmed and false claim that these clips will not rust and state that they should only be used in dry areas.
