Manufactured for the European market with CE marking. The description of "Hardwired" is incorrect and misleading. Exposed live wiring is a direct violation of the US and Canadian National Electrical Code. The design of the installation of the lamp does not meet the standards. It's a shame, because otherwise it could have been a pretty good and cheap product. It is not UL listed for safety standards. I haven't seen the UL label, nor any nationally recognized test lab-certified electrical agency certification marks. I am a licensed electrician and want to make the right decision in purchasing these lights. They are useless unless you want to compromise safety and create a fire hazard.
