We had some winter coats and quilts that we wanted to break in and stash to free up space in our closet, and these oversized bags were just what we needed. I had no problem sticking it in there and blowing the air out with a vacuum cleaner. The bags seal well and have been airtight ever since. A very tight seal that ensures these bulky parts take up significantly less space than before. They work best if you fill them up as much as possible. You can't fill one of them halfway and expect it to shut tight; it's just not true. So make sure you have enough "stuff" to fit in a bag of this size. Please note that they are also great for cushions. We kept a few that we didn't have to leave but would be nice to have in case we had extra guests.
