waterproof, but not heavy plastic
The shower caps are completely waterproof. My hair stays dry even when water runs over my head. The only draw-back is that they are not thick plastic like some others I have had so I'm not sure how long they will last. They are thicker than the shower caps at hotels so they should last at least a little while. They are a good value even though they are not thick plastic.

- The elastic band may lose its stretch after a few uses, rendering the shower caps inadequate
