Better than Johnson!

We LOVE this! The soothing baby bath still helps us and our daughter is 3 years old! I think the smell wakes something in her head that tells her it's time for bed and calms her down immediately. This has been our bedtime fix since she was a baby and it really works. Aromatherapy works for me so I figured it would work for my baby (it's not for everyone but seriously try!) so I bought the Johnsons brand when I was pregnant and I've had them for a while applied to my little girl. But then my friend told me that Baby Magic has fewer harmful ingredients, so I decided to give it a try. The scent is almost the same as Johnson's, but without dyes and hypoallergenic. The ingredient list is pretty much the same as Johnson's (includes sulfates and some other not-so-nice stuff), but it's usually cheaper than Johnson's at the stores I usually buy. Now it's about $2 cheaper per bottle because I'm a subscriber and saver. When my daughter had trouble sleeping, I bathed in this remedy and then applied the lotion that came with it, then gave her a nice bath in warm water. water (for some reason, cool/warm temps are somehow more comforting while sleeping) and it worked like a charm. I gave her a baby massage with lotion before bed, rocked her and sang to her and she slept so well. If she woke up at night to eat, I would rub a little lotion on my hands before bed while I fed and cradled her. It not only relaxed her, but also me. Even when I was pregnant, I would just open the bottle to sniff and imagine bathing my sweet baby. He really helped me get through these last awful weeks of discomfort. I'm trying to guide my family towards more natural bath and body products, but this scent literally elicits a Pavlovian reaction from my daughter, telling her it's time to calm down and get going. Bed. Besides her usual bedtime, she associates this scent with sleep. I'm sorry, but I won't let soap keep me up at night. I just don't. At this point, I pretty much have a feeling that her insomnia at night (harmful to her development and my sanity) will be worse than exposure to sulfates, parabens, etc., which are then washed right off her skin. As much as we care about our health in almost every other way, I highly doubt that a little soap will send my daughter on a downward spiral toward illness.
