Something has changed in the manufacture of these cartridges. I have been using the Litter Locker system for almost 10 years. I obviously love it, it works well for me with 3 cats. I order my refill cartridges from Revain, 5 to 7 at a time. I was hoping it was an accident with the 5 cartridge I ordered earlier this year. Every cartridge in this batch was defective. The rim around the cartridge tore the pouches. Sometimes the cartridge fell through the locker. I once repaired a sharp rim edge with tape, which seemed to work for a while. I recently reordered another batch of 5 cartridges and have had the same issues since the first cartridge. If the bag breaks before you want to empty it, you'll make a big mess. I'm hoping someone in production can fix this as I plan to keep using the Litter Locker system.
