Bad product. You will still buy.

Let's be honest. If you look at this product, you will probably buy it. Why? First, you're probably tired of climbing over the gate or bending over to drop off/pick up your child every 5 minutes. Second, you worry that grandparents might fall when crossing the threshold. Third, because you've already spent $80 on this manufacturer, you have no alternative. The company knows this and charges exorbitant prices for a surprisingly cheap product. You know how regular panels bend in weird ways when you lean on them, or when you break them or put them back together? These gates are made in exactly the same way, so when closed they are about the same strength. This means that when open it has no support at all. It also means the latch is surprisingly difficult to close because nothing ever lines up properly - you always have to fidget to close and latch properly. It's doable with one hand, but it's still a pain. I assume for $50 they can afford to use more plastic or add some metal to make it stronger. The gate is irreversible. If it doesn't swing outwards the right way for your needs, you'll need to flip the entire barrier so the gate faces inwards instead. Be careful though as this will expose the child lock switch inside. I have recommended this company to friends because of this small increase in quality in sales. Otherwise it works as expected. Enjoy!
