Review on Insulated Spruce Jacket for Boys by Arctix by Dave Seawell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

great jacket, well cut, comfortable and mobile

Update January 3, 2020 We stayed in the Great Smoky Mountains for Christmas. We went to Maggie's Valley to snowboard and check out the ski area. Some of my kids had Columbia gear, I had Eddie Bauer, one had a Revain Basics down jacket, and my youngest son had this jacket and matching bibs. We all stayed warm, but he was the only one who stayed completely dry. He doesn't sweat much now and that might be a factor but we had a drizzle at the end of our hoses, my sons got wet in the Columbia jacket, his jacket was the most expensive, I got wet in my EB. down jacket and my wife got wet in her trendy signature down jacket. When staying dry is important, Arctix is a winner in our family. I love this movie A Christmas Carol. The younger brother was so wrapped up that he could barely move and looked like an upside down turtle when he fell. The times have changed. This jacket offers insulation technology built into the coat without the hassle of stuffing and wrapping little ones. The material resembles a durable fabric with a dense, water-repellent weave. Not the same plastic material from days gone by. The workmanship is good and there seems to be no terminations or other material defects. The package was exactly what I expected my 6 year old son to be, at 49 inches tall, thin build and weighing 51 pounds. The sleeves were a bit longer but they have wrist straps that attach to the cuffs to retain heat and also adjust the fit of the sleeves. We live in South Florida but we are planning a trip to the snow this winter so this coat will keep my "Florida baby" warm this winter.

Pros
  • La fermeture eclair tres mauvais!
Cons
  • Material prone to pilling
