My son loves it but it has its downsides. I think the ideal age range is 3-5 or 3-6 years old. Remember there are tons of tiny pieces to make silly plasticine faces. So if you are looking to give this to a young child I would remove the bag of pieces and just give them the clay. Clay feels very different from ordinary clay. Feels wet at first touch. It didn't bother my son. But I could see how disgusting some kids can be. Pros: 1. The parts to make silly faces are fabulous. My son can't get enough of the characters we make! 2. There is a wide variety of colors.3. The colors are beautiful and very bright. CONS: 1. The clay dries out more than one would expect. It can still be used if you forget to put it away for a few hours. But it's not that good.2. It gets very sticky, which some kids like and some don't. Due to the fact that it is fibrous, many small pieces remain on the bottom (e.g. MESS). Overall I gave 4 stars because my 3 year old loves it. And it's excellent value for money.
