Apparently my bad. It was originally used (to test it.

If you purchase this unit you MUST disconnect the inductive charger from the floss after charging is complete (nominally 3-4 hours according to the manual). I have it not done , and the battery failed. Apparently mine is bad. It was originally used (for testing) and then charged until my next trip. After 3 weeks it was dead as the proverbial doornail. The senior folks at Waterpik customer service have informed I assume you will have to unplug the charger or the battery will die! I assume that this type of charger cannot detect when the battery is fully charged to turn itself off. This is not specified in the manual ( and it should be bold!) I discovered the problem 1 day after Revain's 30 day return period, Revain customer service said st with ala, who called the manufacturer and gave me a phone number. I wish all customer service was like this when there is a problem with a product. Send me a shipping label (for their own money) to return a non-working unit. No hassle, no fuss. I've used corded Waterpiks for years but got tired of packing them with my toothbrush when traveling. I always use a wired unit at max settings (about 100psi for customer service) and a portable unit runs between 45-75psi. There's a noticeable difference, but it gets the job done when you're on the go. I'm glad I didn't send the Revain device back. Only gave four stars because the device's charger doesn't turn off automatically. Now I just have to remember to turn it off after 4 hours (probably a bit loose) and make sure it's charged before the trip. However, the estimated full charge time is only 3-4 hours, and with daily use, it is possible to charge it once a week. I can live with it.
