Review on Top Entry Smart Paws Cat Litter Box by Maribel Gilbe

With so many different cat litters out there it was surprisingly difficult to find one that fits the needs. I've been using the Tidy Cats Breeze system for years and I love it and will use it as a second litter box but my cat has started to leave the litter box so I wanted to try Pretty Litter which doesn't work with the Breeze litter box and this one has a big big hole on the top that is easy to mix and scoop daily filler. I also wanted to try the top opening filler to hopefully keep my medium sized dog away from it and to keep her from chasing my cat when she uses the box because the dog thinks the cat is a pet donor. Most top opening trays had very shallow trays with gaps that would let litter through, this one has a nice high bottom so the cat's digging doesn't throw the litter away. At first I left the lid open and my cat got used to it straight away and after a few days I put the lid on and she learned to jump in and out. The only downside right now is that she'll just jump straight out of the box and some stuffing will come out with her, so hopefully she'll start using a grid on it so the stuffing can fall back down. Still giving 5 stars as this is cat user error, although this box is quite expensive for what it is. My cat is 8lbs and quite small for size comparison in the photos, she has room in the box but can be a bit cramped for a large cat. Although it feels comfortable and strong.
