That's pretty accurate. I've tried hopping and shifting my weight but it doesn't work. I've walked 20 steps in different ways (tiptoe, very slowly, etc.) and those steps are counted. I just found out this works on the elliptical too! I haven't tried other modes. What is "sleep tracking"? In any case. The only things I don't like are: placing the back of your wrist against your body (even through thin clothing) launches a special timed tracking mode. This counts as a long press. Abort. I often keep my hands behind my back (I think it's "convenient" in the army). I just learned to twist my arm slightly in this pose. And you MUST sync this to your phone every month or it will waste time. The first time it went off for 2 minutes (after about 5 weeks) and I was going to send it back but decided to sync it again and see if that fixed the problem. And so it was. After about 4 weeks it went offline for 1 minute and I synced it again and it restarted. The battery is fine. It only needs to be charged every 4 days.
