This is a solid device that seems well built. I assume it will last a long time. Aside from being well made and not taking up any extra space on my desktop, every switch has the same switch. This is an important feature that I haven't used on the hub before. I can leave everything plugged into the outlet and just turn on the switch when I want to turn on whatever is plugged into that port. This is especially valuable on a device like my Epson Perfection Scanner that doesn't have a power button and turns on the port connection. However, with this hub I can leave it plugged in and just flick the switch whenever I want to use it. Much easier than looking through the papers on my desk for a connector to plug into a port.
