So close but not close enough to hold them

Man I really wanted to love these headlights. They seemed like the perfect combination of functionality and price, but they just don't work for me. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: - The ability to adjust the color temperature (warm/cool/cool) and brightness is great for getting the look you want. - The gooseneck mounts are strong and can support the weight of light sources. - The gooseneck is too long and can go around/even over my desktop monitor. Cons: - While the clip that acts as the base looks relatively sturdy, it doesn't have enough clamping force to support the entire build. I mean of course if I don't squeeze it so low over my monitor that the grips compress my actual screen and block part of it then it holds GREAT, but I don't want this thing to crush the active part of the screen. my screen all day. - Since the mount is a clamp, I couldn't use any other possible solutions (tripod, permanent mount, etc.) to position it correctly. - No matter how I positioned the lights, if they cast enough light to allow for a good view, they also reflected the two big light donuts in my glasses. I could have set them higher and they wouldn't have been blinding, but then I was shaded down - same as on low setting, I was shaded up (ugh scary). - This seems like a solution for good lighting and the lack of reflection in the glasses would result in more spread between the lights, but they don't open wide enough. - The controls are located on the cable very close to the clip. For me, all the lights I tried that even remotely worked put the clip in an awkward position behind my monitor, requiring me to get up and reach for the monitor every time I wanted to adjust the light. VERY impractical in my case. I hoped they would help me but they didn't. I think I'll have to research more expensive lights with at least two of these on tripods to get the height and spread of the light right to get a good view with the reflective goggles. If you're using a laptop screen and are sitting very close to it, I think they can be made to work as long as you don't mind the clip pressing the active top of your screen. i give them back
