I have a cot for my 6 month old granddaughter outside our house and even with the normal curtains the sun shines very brightly into this room during the day making it a real problem for her to get a nap close. These blackout curtains really made a difference after I hung them. They don't completely darken the room, but they certainly made the room less bright and she now sleeps more comfortably. I bought a tension rod to hang them up but didn't have to because they come with suction cups. I just don't like suction cups because in this particular case I didn't want to worry about the suction cups losing their grip and the curtain falling off the window which would not only brighten the room but potentially wake up the baby. make the sound of falling out of the window.
