I'm on well water. The installation was about what I expected. I made sure the screws in the metal head holding the red buttons weren't loose. I attached the device directly to the wall, but I didn't like that it sags a bit (heavy). So I drilled a few holes in the metal frame and added the hooks, chains, and turnbuckles I bought at the hardware store. The turnbuckles allowed me to level the unit and support the weight evenly. I couldn't decide whether to use the Shark Bite fittings with compression rings or the slip-fit style, so I bought and tried both. I quickly decided that the slip fit was much better, even though the cost was higher. Not a single leak from the compression fittings, and I had to remove and reinstall them a few times to get the route the way I wanted it (using a UV sterilizer). I had a few drips from the fittings that screw into the filter head on either side, but after I applied more teflon tape to the threads they stopped. Approximately 6 wraps of tape were required for each adjustment. I used an HQUA-OWS-124 UV filter, a WSP-50 centrifugal filter and a Fleck 5600 SXT softener to complete the system. After everything was set up and running, I noticed a Pex glow coming from both ends of the UV block. I realized I should have used copper because UV exposure will damage Pex over time. The route was easy to see because of the slip-fit fittings. I simply cut the copper tubing to the same length and reinstalled it as the fittings fit both Pex and copper.
