This drain fits my square shower head and looks great. Since the bottom of the drain is unthreaded, you will need a threaded plastic adapter (this will allow you to adjust the height if needed) or a rubber adapter (this will work if you don't need to adjust it) to connect it to the drain pipe. . I wasn't aware of this before purchasing and noticed after learning that many of these drains come with one or both. For the price I think a third one should too. Plastic is easy to buy at a hardware store, but rubber I had to order online. My plumber used the plastic version so I returned the rubber version. It drains well when the shower is running, but I've found that it can be a little slow when I'm in the shower (not standing on the drain). Overall I'm happy with it and so I can remove the drain caps to clean them. The wrench to remove the top lid went missing during my bathroom renovation so I use a large allen wrench if the metal isn't strong enough, it bends when you try to lift the lid.
