Review on Brother SX 4000 Electronic Typewriter by Jennifer Madrid

I bought this to replace my old IBM Selectric that finally gave up. Even though we have multiple computers at home, we still need something to fill out the forms and work with the index cards we've used for recipes for years. Brother completes the bill. It takes time to get used to its conventions, some of which are illogical. For example, tabs can only be set when the caret is on the far left. But after a while you get used to its features and it does its job perfectly. The price is right too. I would hope there would be a wider choice of daisy faces; The instruction manual lists many of these, but most have been discontinued. For example, you can find Letter Gothic Daisies online, but the prices are too high. However, this machine represents excellent value for money and is a welcome addition to our arsenal.
