How do you mount them?

I have two dimmers on my 12v washing machines in my van. Hooking it up to the wires and fuse box was very easy. But I can't figure out how to attach the switch to the wall plate myself. Behind the handle is a die the size of a six-sided die. There are no clips, clips, levers, or other protruding parts that will fit through a hole or bezel. So far that has been the only problem. I still haven't found a solution.
