I've been using the Microsoft Mobile 4000 for a very long time. No problem. Everything is there and works great. I've knocked it off the table many times without a break. The scroll wheel is very smooth-running. The side button is programmed to one of several options. I use it to navigate to the desktop and back. This is a small mouse, so it is suitable for travel. It is very light and easy to move; it requires no more energy than just squeezing your hand; It seems that the mouse is not here, and yet it is there. I would say I have medium sized hands. I don't have my hand on the mouse. I place my palm on the mouse pad and my finger rests gently on the mouse. The buttons, including the side ones, fit perfectly under my fingers but I never accidentally press them. The scroll wheel is so easy to reach without changing hand position. All it takes to access the scroll wheel is a light swipe of your index finger, and as I said, the wheel is very smooth and feels nice. Handling this mouse is like laying hands on a kitten. I am in complete control of everything and yet I touch the mouse with the gentlest of touches and energy. It's really smooth mouse control. Anyone with weak or aching hands can control this mouse effortlessly, and that's thanks to its light weight and because the buttons and wheel are so perfectly placed and so easy to operate. As soon as you pick up this mouse, everything you need is in its place, requiring only small movements to interact with the buttons and wheel. The battery life is very good. I think I can only change batter twice a year at most and never turn it off. When the battery is warning you, the red light will come on and stay on for many more days, giving you plenty of time to get a new battery if you don't have one. The screen movement is very good and the screen scrolling is extremely smooth; smooth. You may need to adjust your Windows mouse settings to get the speed and accuracy you want, but it only takes a minute and is built into the drivers. You can also click the scroll wheel on a webpage and then move your mouse back and forth to scroll the page, and that's smooth scrolling too. For example, if you want to go to the furthest point on the screen, a small but quick movement will cause the pointer to accelerate exponentially. This is an amazing mouse in a very simple shape with a customizable button on the side. In short, this is the perfect basic mouse. I've had mine for over 4 years with no problems. I'm a programmer, so I'm at the computer 5 days a week.
