I originally bought a 7.5 inch Kaytee Ball for our Syrian Hamster. It was too small and her back had to arch to walk and the next size ball from the Kaytee brand was this. This is TWICE the size of a 7.5 inch ball. Photos are misleading. Although the description says "for chinchillas and rats", the photos showed two hamsters in smaller pads. That's why I bought it - I figured Syrian hamsters would need it too. Your whole arm can go through the slots, so it's not safe. I returned this one and bought a 10" Lee's Crittera Ball. It's PERFECT and worth paying $30 for.
