These mini blinds have two problems. 1. This product comes with poorly designed brackets, making it difficult to install. The latches in the brackets are spring steel and the rail snaps and rotates inward to snap onto a small rear bottom lug that does not prevent the bottom rail from rotating back. To solve this problem we had to add glue to this bar and the back of the rail. Compared to the latches in the 2" kit mounts, which are steel and attach to the lower rear spring tab, they hold up well as the solid top hooks stay on the tab while the mini connectors are solid bending spring steel. by a protrusion that allows the handrail to swing back. Consequently, we had to apply a small amount of glue to the strut's tab and the back of the rail to hold it in place when it snapped into place. 2. Another issue is the size (?) and strength of the cables. As the blinds were lowered to their lowest point, one of the cords snapped. Without knowing how they were stretched we can't figure out how to tighten the slats and fix/tie the cord. All of this necessitated the purchase of replacement roller shutters from Walmart, which had traditional steel brackets for the top rail end boxes, at a significantly lower cost.
