If you know how to do it maybe ok but I tried to install this on a 5/8 wide door and it didn't fit. I had to shorten the center bar significantly and put the shims on the inner latch as the shims also remember this, although this is not necessarily a problem with the product there must not be a gap between the frame and the handle as it is right on top of it must sit latches and the handle should be almost completely attached to the frame. I used the grommets as spacers as I needed these to function in an emergency as my old latch broke. Be careful with the sizing though as I had issues despite the description of the product fit but the hardware seems solid / not cheap plastic for most devices
